David has become well-known for his project MY URBAN PIANO for which a series of nine music videos was produced in different European Capitals of Culture. He dedicated an original composition to each city and performed it on artistically designed pianos. Most of the pianos were donated to institutions of the cities.
In 2019 he composed the title song “There For You / Fir Dech Do” for RTL Télé Luxembourg’s charity show “Télévie” and the highly successful musical homage to Grand Duke Jean of Luxembourg “Adieu”.
David’s music is highly sophisticated and rooted in the tradition of classical music, yet easily accessible for everyone. Each of his compositions is unique and touching, celebrating the gift of life, the treasure of peace and the blessing of forgiveness. Being a genuine communicator both onstage and in life, David loves to work with people and is capable of inspiring others with his enthusiasm and love for life. Among others, David has worked with children, cancer patients, refugees and disabled people. The powerful beauty of his music unites people regardless of their ethnic origin, religion, social status or age. David strives to leave a positive impact through his musical projects on everyone involved.
David’s passion for music started early in his childhood. At the age of sixteen he gave his first international concert performing Franz Liszt’s Second Piano Concerto. In the late nineties, David withdrew from the public in order to find his spiritual and musical identity. He increasingly dedicated himself to composing his own music. In the following fruitful years, David developed his unique and personal style which reflects his pursuit of truth, beauty and silence in music. While deeply rooted in the tradition of classical music, David’s harmonically and contrapuntally diverse compositions have found their way into the hearts of classical music lovers and mainstream listeners alike.
He released several albums with his piano music as well as two albums with the Cistercian Monks of Stift Heiligenkreuz which were awarded platinum status in Austria. David is an official Steinway artist and his music is published by Universal Edition.
Bekannt wurde der Musiker in den letzten Jahren vor allem durch sein Projekt MY URBAN PIANO, für das er in neun europäischen Kulturhauptstädten aufwändige Musikvideos produzierte. Für jede Stadt schrieb er eine Komposition, die er auf bunt bemalten Klavier auf außergewöhnlichen Schauplätzen spielte.
Hier verknüpft er seine Musik auf natürliche Art mit sozialem Engagement, wie beispielsweise in der Episode „Friends“, die er für die DKMS produzierte, dem Stück „Butterflies“, für das er mit geistig behinderten Menschen arbeitete, oder im Musikvideo „Children of Aleppo“, im dem er einen Chor von jungen Flüchtlingen begleitet.
Für sein Projekt „Childhood“ – die orchestrale Hymne für das luxemburgische SOS-Kinderdorf – arbeitete er intensiv mit Kindern aus dem Kinderdorf zusammen. 2019 komponierte er den Titelsong „There For You“ für die luxemburgische Charity-Sendung „Télévie“. Neben mehreren Solo-Alben hat David Ianni zwei erfolgreiche Alben mit Zisterziensermönchen des Stiftes Heiligenkreuz aufgenommen.
2019 erschien seine Komposition „Adieu“, ein Werk zu Ehren von Großherzog Jean von Luxemburg, bei der Universal Edition. Das dazugehörige Video wurde im Schloss der großherzoglichen Familie produziert.
2021 veröffentlicht Ianni gleich drei Alben: den Soundtrack zu „Follow Me Home“ (aufgenommen 2013 mit der Cellistin Lisa Berg), „Timelessness“ mit Orchesterwerken sowie „Songs of Love, Vol. 1“, ein Solo-Klavierzyklus durch alle 24 Dur- und Molltonarten.
David Ianni s’est notamment fait remarquer pour son projet MY URBAN PIANO, dans lequel une série de neuf vidéoclips a été produite dans différentes capitales européennes de la culture. Depuis 2010, il a régulièrement publié des albums avec sa musique de piano. Pour RTL Télé Luxembourg, il a composé la chanson «There For You», le thème musical de l’emission «Télévie». Son hommage musical «Adieu» pour le Grand-Duc Jean, décédé en avril 2019, a touché tout le Grand-Duché lors de son interprétation en direct sur RTL. Une vidéo a été produite au Ch âteau de la famille Grand-Ducale.
Ses compositions, empreintes d’élégance, de sensibilité et de spiritualité, lui permettent de s’exprimer par son art, mais aussi de s’engager pour les causes qui lui sont chères, telles que la lutte contre la leucémie, le soutien aux personnes handicapées, aux enfants en familles d’accueil, aux personnes réfugiées (Children of Aleppo)…
En 2021 Ianni a publié trois albums : la bande sonore pour « Follow Me Home » (enregistrée en 2013 avec la violoncelliste Lisa Berg), « Timelessness » avec des œuvres orchestrales et « Songs of Love, Vol. 1 », un cycle pour piano solo dans à travers les 24 tonalités majeures et mineures.
